Open Letter to the APWU Members
On behalf of the Cleveland Area Local 72, I Daleo Freeman, being convinced that it is imperative that we keep you abreast of the ever-changing situation with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic, has assembled a COVID Task Force to disseminate all information to the membership.
While Article 14 places the responsibility to provide a safe work environment squarely on the backs of the U. S. Postal Service, it is our intent to push to bring the membership the most up to date and accurate information as it becomes available.
To accomplish this goal, we, the local leadership of the APWU have been in ongoing conversations with Local management and our National APWU leadership.
The Task Force will also address any questions and resolve any issues that might occur during these unprecedented times. We, the leadership of the APWU, are fully aware of your uneasiness concerning this Pandemic. Let me assure every member that we take this seriously and are working tirelessly to be an open line of communication for you.
The Task Force will work under the direction of the APWU President and the Leadership of the respective crafts. Additionally, we are working closely with Local management to ensure the safety and health of all employees.
You can help by alerting us of any unsafe and unhealthful situations that need to be addressed immediately. Remember, we are an essential service to all postal customers, nationally and internationally!!!
In Solidarity, Daleo Freeman, President
